Bolting

When you came running towards my arms
O my mare !
Under the afternoon sun
When you came running among the green fields
And palm trees
As if you were a well-bred mare
And your flowing dress shining in the sun
Like waves
Or like the mane of a highbred mare
And your hair weaved by the wind into a tune
And its waves painted by the brush of the breeze
At that I wanted to run towards you
But I stood watching that beautiful bolting
Listening to the whinny of my blood
Whilst my heart embraced you
Ahead of my arms
Ahead of my hands
By long time
